Mobile forces bulking up their presence

Of the 197 harbour mobile cranes, five barge-mounted and four mounted derivative cranes (ie a world record 206) delivered or contracted in 2007 by the sector's three main suppliers, Gottwald, Liebherr and Reggiane, no less than 69 (33%) were 4-rope cranes devoted to or aimed principally (> 60% of cycles) at bulk handling. For Gottwald the figures were 27 out of 96 (28%), for Liebherr 30 out of 88 (34%) and for Reggiane 12 out of 22 (55%). Most 2-rope cranes are aimed principally at containers/piece goods, but some are aimed mainly at bulk handling (Liebherr, for example, has listed eight such cranes delivered in 2007).
