Mechel Strikes Deal With Hyundai Steel

Mechel OAO, one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, has signed a long-term agreement with Hyundai Steel, Korea, to supply coking coal.rnThe agreement was signed during a visit to South Korea by the Russian delegation headed by the Russian Federation vice-premier Igor Sechin, in which Mechel OAO CEO Igor Zyuzin also participated.rnUnder the agreement, Mechel will deliver K-9 grade coking coal mined from Neryungri open pit to Hyundai Steel for five years beginning on 1 April 2010. The planned delivery volume ranges be-rntween 100,000tpa to 300,000tpa of coal.rnThe export coal deliveries to South Korea will be carried out by Mechel Mining OAO's subsidiary, Yakutugol OAO.
