Western Australia's For-tescue Metals Group achieved a new export benchmark in September, thanks to an overall lift in operational productivity that has left it confident it can achieve a 55mtpa run rate with existing port and rail in-frastructure.rnDuring September the company loaded more ships and exported more ore than in any other month in its two-and-half year produc-tion history: Fortescue's Herb Elliott Port at Port Hedland loaded 25 vessels, including four vessels which carried over 200,000t, for a total of more than 4.3 mt of iron ore exported.rnThe result was achieved despite a week of reduced outloading caused by de-layed ship arrivals, and third- party access responsi-bilities (to Atlas Iron, which has purchased short-term loading capacity from Fortescue).
