Is the tide turning for ARA ports?

Throughput at Europe's largest dry bulk port, Rotterdam, has increased sharply. In the first quarter of this year, 107 mt of goods were handled, 14% more than in the same period of 2009.rnMost types of goods were up, including iron ore and scrap (+ 77%) and other dry bulk (+ 32%). Throughput figures for agribulk (- 32%) and coal were down (-17%) and those for other general cargo and crude oil remained virtually unchanged.
