Steelbro targets grain

NZ sideloader specialist Steelbro developed its own tipper frame designed several years ago, intended to be used with its sideloaders or fixed on site. Used with a sideloader the tipper is designed to be handled off and on a road trailer in the 20' position. The sideloader can deliver the tipper to where grain needs to be loaded and place it on the ground. 20' containers can then be tipped up to 46 degrees for loading. "The great advantage for the exporter is that a conventional container can be used for grain handling instead of a specialised grain container. Twenty per cent more grain can be filled to a maximum capacity of 30 tonnes" Steelbro said in a statement. The company is now marketing its tipper more actively and sees opportunities in the bulk foods industry, especially in Africa.
