The Queensland Government is seeking expressions of interest for the first stage expansion of the Port of Abbot Point. The Newman government threw out the ambitious multi-bulk, six-terminal plans of its predecessor, declaring them too expensive and unwarranted. But it has been forced to partly back-track after its own consultants found significant likely demand.
