Bechtel, the US engineer that was brought in to finish London's Jubilee Line Extension on time, is considering expanding into UK building work. Speaking to Building a week after the family owned firm was recruited to the JLE project, Bechtel's UK infrastructure chief Roger Picard says private finance initiative building work would be an incentive for the move. "Right now, our focus is on transportation and water in the UK, but we are looking at all PFI opportunities. Hospitals and schools could come into that category - I'm not ruling out opportunities."
