Ambar Kelly saw its turnover triple last year as a growing number of contractors and architects were won over by the merits of its RiserSafe product. The product has been developed to overcome the safety, efficiency and cost issues that can occur with construction within risers on multi-storey sites, and judging by the increasing list of those who have specified it, it's a winner. Last year there was further innovation of RiserSafe in the form of frame support, which made it lighter - reducing both material costs and the carbon footprint of the product. Ambar Kelly also rolled out presentations and seminars highlighting the safety benefits of a new approach to riser construction. ;Imagine trying to deliver a £582m project involving 13,000 people over four years without a strong integrated supply chain? It would amount to nothing but complete chaos. Luckily for the Queen Elizabeth hospital project, the supply chain team was top notch. Brought in at a very early stage to ensure each link was able to offer its own knowledge and expertise on the scheme from the word go, improvements were made even before work began. This made for an excellent and financially strong starting point - something that was then able to be carried throughout the length of the project to deliver a state-of-the-art NHS hospital.
