Energy efficiency should be UK priority, says industry coalition

Improving the energy efficiency of UK homes should be a national infrastructure priority, with the government committing to retrofit a million homes a year by 2020, a major new industry coalition has urged. In an open letter to infrastructure minister Lord Deighton, 20 organisations from the construction, housing and environment sectors this week called for the government to invest up to £3bn-4bn per year to fund a significant programme of energy efficiency to transform the UK's ageing housing stock.
