CITB paid Carillion £7.3m for apprentices

Carillion was given £7.3m by the Construction Industry Training Board - £600,000 more than any other company - in the year leading up to its collapse, writes Will Ing. The CITB revealed in its annual report, published last week, that the failed contractor's training arm CITC received just over £Sm for taking on apprentices, plus an additional £2.3m for upskilling and other training.
