Bam sews up £65m deal to redevelop Cass building

Bam has pipped rivals McLaren and Wates to be named preferred bidder for a £65m contract to redevelop the former East End home of an art, architecture and design school known as the Cass into offices and retail. London Metropolitan University sold the 1960s former textiles factory, known affectionately as the "Aldgate Bauhaus" to Fraser Property for £50m in 2016. A year later, AHMM was appointed to draw up plans for a commercial development of the site.
