Ten people have been charged in a fraud investigation relating to two contracts between social housing contractor Lakehouse and Hackney Homes. Following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police's complex fraud team, the 10 - who were employed as part of the supply chain to carry out work on fire alarm installations within the London borough of Hackney - are due to appear at City of Westminster magistrates' court on 6 November. Five of the 10 have been charged with bribery and theft, two with bribery and three money laundering. The allegation of fraud was referred by Hackney to the Met in July 2014, and Lakehouse confirmed it was co-operating with the investigation last summer.
