AECOM Technology Corporation has been commissioned by the Water Supplies Department of Hong Kong SAR Government to reconstruct and upgrade the Sha Tin Water Treatment Works (WTW), currently supplying water to part of urban Kowloon, and the entire Hong Kong Central and Western districts. AECOM will provide detailedrnprocess review, pilot testing, detailed design, tender invitation and construction supervision. With the design capacity of 1,227 million-liters-per-day (MLD), the Sha Tin WTW is the largest WTW in Hong Kong, providing water for over 2 million people, more than 30 percent of the population of Hong Kong. It is also one of the largest water treatment works in Asia.
