The largest underground commercial facility in Guangzhou has begun construction in Nan Cun, Panyu district. Located in the northern part of Panyu and adjacent to the existing Wanbo commercial complex, the total cost of the project is estimated at RMB 28 billion yuan (approx. USD 4.7 billion). Wanbo Commercial District occupies a site area of 1.5 square kilometers. A total of 5,450,000 square meters of CFA (construction floor area) will be provided. The total CFA comprises 3,677,000 square meters of floor space above ground and 1,774,000 square meters of space below ground, which is equivalent to 24 soccer fields. The underground portion will also accommodate the largest public facilities and transportation hub ever built in Guangzhou city.
