The basic design principles of curtain walls in Hong Kong have not changed significantly in recent years, although the use of fully unitised systems, in lieu of 'stick' systems has become more common. Also, many high-rise residential projects are now utilising curtain wall facades, whereas previously window and window wall systems were more typical. There have, however, been advances in the use of more energy efficient curtain wall systems - this has been achieved predominantly through the use of high performance glazing.
