Folly for a Flyover is assembled

Not-for-profit group Assemble has completed its temporary Folly for a Flyover on the edge of the Olympic site in Hackney. The structure, which sits within a masterplan by Muf, is hosting regular film screenings and plays until July 24. Made of reclaimed and donated local materials, it accommodates a bar and external seating. The building fronts onto a canal with its roof poking up between the lanes of the A12. It was hand-built by the collective, also responsible for last year's Cineroleum, and was paid for with a £40,000 Bank of America Merrill Lynch Create Art Award.
