What got you started? My mother was my creative inspiration - she was an artist, a fashion designer, and also a marvellous business lady who believed in quality design. From her, I learned how to deal with people, how to bring out their best and how to conduct business ethically. Who was your most inspiring tutor? Lou Kahn and Paul Rudolph. Which architect have you learnt the most from? Lhave learnt from a number of architects with whom I've worked - some from their knowledge, talent and built work, and others from their mistakes. What "great" architecture leaves you cold? Buildings that are strictly sculptural and don't solve functional problems. What part of the design process do you most enjoy?
