The Planning Inspectorate amended its advice to inspectors regarding the Draft NPPF following claims in The Daily Telegraph which said the "new laws are already in force" and prompted alarm among the many opponents of the changes.It originally issued advice on 7 August saying the controversial Framework should be a material consideration in planning deliberations as it was likely to be referred to in appeals and gave clear indication of the Government's "direction of travel" (BB, August 2011).
