Erewash Council to develop former ironworks site

Erewash Borough Council has released a masterplan to enable the redevelopment of a large contaminated site. The Stanton regeneration site has a 250-year industrial history and housed an ironworks from the mid-19th century until 2007. The council's development plan policy for the Derbyshire site includes comprehensive remediation and redevelopment, a 60ha residential area, a primary school, a neighbourhood centre, a 9ha business park, an 18ha industrial park, a 22ha wildlife park, a rail spur, and landscaping work.
