摘要

One of the first things Steve Mosko did upon taking over as general sales manager of Philadelphia's WTAF-TV in 1983 was to convince TeleRep to represent the station to national advertisers. Not long after he'd accomplished this, he was walking down the hall at TeleRep's New York headquarters with its president Steve Herson, when Herson turned to him and said: "Watch this." Catching the eye of a young account executive coming toward them, Herson said simply: "Pitch Syracuse." Without missing a beat, the young man launched into a presentation, describing Syracuse's TV market, citing the call letters of each station and talking a little about its ownership. Then he went into some detail about the news race and the competition in other key dayparts. Through it all, he positioned the TeleRep station as the one most desirable to advertisers.
