The horror genre is hot these days, with The Walking Dead racing to record ratings on its return to AMC and shows like America Horror Story: Coven terrifying viewers on FX (see Cover Story, page 8). But one unlikely new entrant is C-SPAN, which has been covering the ongoing horror of the government shutdown/breakdown/patch-up. Legislators were not shy about comparing their political opponents to runaway trains hurtling toward innocent victims and pinpricks that were instead "hemorrhaging blows" to the economy and small business.
