The closest that your editorial ("Talking Points," Dec. 24) comes to the roots of the [Newtown, Conn.,] story was in your "second point," concerning the "details various news media got so wrong in reporting the story." And even there, the story is not in what they got wrong, but in what they never bothered to report. Just a few of the unasked, and unanswered, questions: Was [the shooter, Adam Lanza] taking the drugs prescribed for his mental state? Was his mental condition under treatment, or had he dropped out of treatment after reaching the age of majority? Should he have been incarcerated for his.own protection and that of others?
