NHK's R&D results exhibited at Inter BEE 2017

NHK exhibited 8K Super Hi-Vision (8K), internet technology for broadcast services, and integral 3D technology at an exhibition for broadcast technology, Inter BEE 2017, held at Makuhari Messe (Chiba City) from November IS through 17, 2017. In a joint exhibit booth with the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), we introduced methods and equipment required for receiving and viewing Super Hi-Vision broadcasts (which are scheduled to begin in December 2018 as a regular service) at home. Furthermore, to showcase our latest 8K program-production technologies, we exhibited the 8K OB van including a double-speed slow-motion system utilizing high-frame-rate production equipment at 120 Hz developed by STRL. These technologies enable a variety of video representations.
