The term virtual reality (VR) began with the launch of the commercial VR system "RB2" in 1989, which led to a boom in this field. With the transition from the Japanese Heisei era to the new Reiwa era taking place in May this year, we are facing another VR boom. In the past, there were a limited number of researchers and engineers involved with VR and the subject of most research was regarding how to create VR. Today, equipment costs are so low that individuals can buy a head-mounted display, and the research focus is changing from research on VR to research using VR. The lecturer today is conducting research not on virtualizing space but on virtualizing the complementary human body.
