RAD Data Communications Ltd. wants to push end-to-end monitoring and control of ATM networks all the way to the desktop. RAD debuted a new ATM access device, the ACE-101, at ATM Year '97. The ACE-101 specifically is designed to connect private local-area ATM networks to the carrier's public ATM networks. "The ACE-101 is first in a series of customer-premises access devices [planned by RAD]. It acts as the demarcation point between the carrier's service and the user network enabling service providers to extend their management capacity all the way to the customer premises," says Inbar Lasser-Raab, business development manager, ATM technology at RAD.
