Purpose-designed video tripods and heads have, unlike their stills-related brethren, always eschewed low weight and compactness in favour of outright stability. That's made them bulky and expensive, mostly because professional HD video cameras themselves are heavy and bulky, certainly when compared with HDSLRs. As a result, fluid heads are usually designed to accommodate a heavier payload, and therefore can't counterbalance the lighter HDSLR set-up unless matched with heavy or long lenses.
