"Dude, I don't drink home-made beer." That was how Kevin Wood, the owner of Darling Brew, answered the first person who offered him a craft beer. It was October 2007 when Wood and his wife Philippa stumbled across the Sneeuberg microbrewery in the Karoo town of Nieu-Bethesda, three days into a one-year 4×4 safari across Africa. The owner of Sneeuberg, Andre Cilliers, persuaded Wood to try his beer with the promise that if he didn't like it, he didn't have to pay.
