Specialists from maintenance providers Fantastic Services have split the beans on how beer can make your home sparkle - just as much as you. 1) Polish old copper pots: "The acidity in beer breaks down the sooty looking tarnish and restores shine and vigour without staining the metal," says domestic cleaner Ralitsa Prodanova. "Dab a small amount of beer onto a cloth and get buffing!" 2) Beer as a stain remover: Carpet experts explain: "Just pour some beer directly on the stain and rub gently with a clean cloth. Keep repeating until the stain vanishes. The bubbles will help lift out the grime." 3) Beer to polish wooden furniture: "You'll need flat beer for this," says Ralitsa. "Rub it into your table with a cloth and it'll come up new, giving it a lovely sheen." 4) De-bug your garden: "It's the sugars in beer that gets them giddy," explains gardening specialist Boris Milushev. "Position a few glasses of flat beer around the boundaries of your garden to keep them out. 5) Use beer to keep your bird moist: Beer isn't just a wonderful accompaniment with a meal - it makes the food taste better too. Take a chicken, and pop half a can of beer where the sun don't shine. "This does sound like a delicious idea, but make sure you clean your oven when it's cooled down as you don't want a build-up of grease and grime," warns oven and barbeque cleaning technician Miroslav Pavlov.
