摘要

Tasmania's history is intertwined with colonisation and the shipment of convicts by the British Empire; Willie Smith's is no exception. In 1888 Willie Smith planted his first apple orchard and four generations later the Smith family still pick from it - with a few more trees added, of course. Situated on 47 hectares (resulting in 1,500-2,000 tonnes of apples every year], the orchard is a reminder of a once thriving apple-growing region that exported apples all over the globe and earned Tasmania the title of the 'Apple Isle'.
