TIAA MRT EMU Delivered

The seventeen commuter trains in 4-car train-set and eleven express trains in 5-car train-set for the TIAA MRT project were all delivered to the Chingpu depot on September 11th, 2013. The EMUs were manufactured in Japan and Taiwan. Taiwan's industrial cooperation partner - Taiwan Rolling Stock Co. Ltd., was responsible for the manufacturing of sixteen commuter trains. The rest of the EMUs were manufactured by Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., including one commuter and eleven express trains.
