OLA OLSSON

It was Michelangelo who characterized the task of the sculptor as releasing the form that preexists inside the block of marble. In a similar fashion, Ola Olsson uses light to sculpt his luminous nudes out of the opaque darkness. Working with single, long exposures and illuminating his subjects with a homemade lamp, Olsson selectively bathes his subjects with light to create nudes that are at once starkly abstract yet mesmerizing in their sensuality.
