It's the stuff of dreams: A young man takes off with a good friend, a modest bankroll and his trusty cameras for a sevenweek trip to Mexico. Just such an expedition was embarked upon by Seattle photographer Roger Hagan more than 50 years ago, though it now makes up just a few fragments in a lifetime of memories. "It is amazing how little one remembers of some of this after 50 years," he says. "I look at some pictures and don't even remember being there, or even taking them. Only having the negatives in hand proves that I was there. A lot of the stories have drifted out of memory."
