From poets and pilgrims, to not a few photographers in between, the cross-country road trip along the American continent remains an enduring source of self-discovery and creative inspiration. For Doug Convente, travel along the open road over the past three decades has been the source of his livelihood, as well as the artistic wellspring out of which he has produced an extensive portfolio of indelible images of America's natural and man-made topography.
