摘要

Rural women in Japan are marginalized both in the ownership of production resources and marketing of agricultural products due to 'ie' system (Japanese patriarchal system), marketing through wholesale market and agricultural cooperatives as stakeholders in the wholesale market. The system customarily recognized only male as head of household (patriarchal) despite the essential roles of rural women in marketing of agricultural products through out the world.
