Purdue University researchers secure US$5.2 million to study new 'biofuel plant'

A group of researchers from Purdue University (IN, USA) have received a US$5.2 million US Department of Energy grant in order to develop a plant for use as a biofuel - by rerouting the carbon currently use to make lignin, a barrier to cellulosic ethanol production, and turn it into a biofuel.
