The First Ibero-American Cooking and Gourmet Fair, taking place from May 4-6 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla., will bring together American and Latin American chefs. Organized by Fispal Latino, the event will include a gourmet cooking show, as well as displays of art and music. Fispal Latino will donate 5 percent of total income to the Miami Dade Easter Seals Foundation. During the show, acclaimed U.S. and Latin American chefs will reveal some of their best Latin gourmet recipes, and southern Florida will discover a new way of preparing food — or perhaps not so new, since Latin American cooking has been finding its niche in supermarkets and restaurants around the country for the past 20 to 30 years.
