With nearly 1 million consumer packaged goods available and the proliferation of merchandising displays and promotions in the marketplace, consumers increasingly are finding it difficult to make purchasing decisions. IRI reports that among two-thirds of CPG categories, 30 percent or more volume is now sold with merchandising support. As of yet, merchandising strategies and tactics have not kept pace to address evolving consumer needs. Consumers are demanding a more simplified shopping experience.
