According to new research from Chicago-based Mintel, coconut water product introductions have more than quintupled - a more than 540 percent increase - in the last five years. Products containing coconut water also have taken off on an international scale, it adds. New product launches are still dominated by North America, totaling 35 percent of global coconut water introductions in 2012, up from 17 percent in 2008.
