We've watched the craft beer market develop from an emerging, localized trend in the mid '90s, to an industry that now boasts significant annual volume growth year over year. As sales continually increase, so too does the number of brewers - from about eight U.S. brewers in 1980 to over 4,000 today. According to the Brewers Association, craft brewers sold approximately 12.2 million barrels of beer from January through the end of June 2015. There's no disputing the craft beer trend is solidly rooted, and is likely to maintain its status as one of America's fastest growing consumer products as we head into 2016.
