The three new compact track loaders - the 279C, 289C and 299C - Caterpillar introduced at World of Concrete are beefed up versions of their multi-terrain loader counterparts, with rubber tracks that have embedded steel bars and cables, a positive external drive system and a torsion axle suspension. The two-speed standard machines have a maximum 8.5 mph speed. The new loaders feature a steel-embedded track and steel undercarriage components, electrohydraulic console-mounted joystick controllers, electronic torque management, and a suspension seat in the operator station.
