Before we've caught our breath after the launch of the standard and Z51 versions of the C7 Vette, Chevy slapped us around the chops with the even more potent Z06 version. Known at GM as The Big Nasty, the supercharged Z06's LT4 engine packs 'at least' 625bhp and 635lbft - more than the outgoing ZR-1. But there's more to the Z06 than just a monster power hike. Developed alongside the C7R production race car, the new fastest 'Vette features the same frame as the track car. This, incredibly, makes it 20 per cent stiffer than the current Z06 without the removable roof panel in place and 60 per cent tauter with it in situ.
