TopGear TV christened it the Reasonably Fast Car, but even "reasonably fast' might be a mite generous to the GT86. With a modest 200 horsepower on tap, it'd be outpaced around the average track by an average modern hot hatch. Or an average modern diesel saloon. But lap times weren't what the GT86 was about. This was a car that was about feeling alive at modest speeds rather than worrying about lap times. Those 200 naturally aspirated horses made their way through a manual 'box to a pair of slender rear tyres, meaning you didn't have to be doing your best Baby Driver impression to find the limits of grip. As performance cars became ever more capable, their limits ever less accessible to normal humans, the GT86 brought things back to earth.
