Dear Reader, Welcome to the first issue of BATTLESPACE for 2016 to coincide with the bi-annual Eurosatory Exhibition in Paris. The situation in Syria and the wider Middle East continues to deteriorate with some pundits suggesting at another 10 years before any finality to the war in Syria. Although the Russian intervention has aided President Assad, the Russian troops have to find an exit strategy in Syria and another in Ukraine to relive the pressure on its armed forces and dwindling budget.
