It Is Now More Than a Decade since Jim O'Neill of Goldman Sachs coined the term BRICs, denoting Brazil, Russia, India and China, four of the most important emerging economies. Economic ideas and acronyms come and go, but the BRICs description has stuck. That is partly because the development of these economies has been dramatic in the past few years, even as the West has been beset by crisis - but also because it was a neat way of summing.
