SRCB: Convenience bank providing catered services to the mass public

Re-incorporated from the 50-year-old Shanghai Rural Credit Cooperatives Union on Aug 25, 2005, Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank (SRCB) is a joint stock commercial bank with headquarters in Shanghai. SRCB is predominantly controlled by state-owned entities, while its largest individual shareholder is Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited. SRCB possesses Rmb5bn ($789m) of registered capital, and is equipped with more than 350 outlets and about 5500 staff. SRCB has now become one of the banks owning the largest number of outlets and the biggest small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) customer base that contributes to our highest loan balance. It is also one of the regional banks with the most comprehensive e-banking channels in China. SRCB is the first bank in China to initiate a Financial Convenient Store offering nighttime personal services. By the end of June 2012, SRCB's total assets were as high as Rmb334bn, total deposit balance was more than Rmb265bn, and total loan balance was more than Rmb184bn. At the end of 2011, its net profit was Rmb3.173bn. Meanwhile, according to the Top 1000 World Banks listed by The Banker, SRCB has been ranked the top 250 banks worldwide continuously for the past two years.
