摘要

Nigeria is at risk of losing out on a $1.5bn World Bank loan over concerns about the pace of its structural reforms, according to Reuters. The west African country, which is also the continent's largest economy and biggest oil producer, requires assistance to finance a record $28bn budget for the year. Discussions between the multilateral institution and the government in Abuja are continuing, although it is unlikely any loan will now be approved until at least October. American Express has announced plans to buy f intech lender and financial platform Kabbage. The terms of the transaction have not been announced. The move comes as American Express looks to expand its product and service offerings for its small and medium-sized business clients. In particular, the acquisition of Kabbage will strengthen the company's ability to provide cash management solutions to this customer segment.
