JPMorgan Chase has announced plans to acquire a second location in Paris to support its post-Brexit business in the EU. The US lender will purchase a building in central Paris from BNP Paribas, with capacity for 450 staff. Once completed, the development will position Paris as the bank's second largest operation in Europe. Estonia's financial regulator has expanded its investigation into the local unit of Danske Bank, covering financial transactions with a value of $2bn. According to a statement by the regulator, this includes at least 10 additional cases of suspicious money transfers. The initial investigation included suspicious transactions with a total value of $300m associated with two different cases. The UK labour market showed signs of strength in the three months to November 2019, with the number of jobs increasing by 208,000 over the quarter. The UK's unemployment rate is at 3.8%, its lowest level since 1975. The total number of people out of work was 1.31 million. The strength of the figures has weakened the case for the Bank of England to cut interest rates.
