Q What were the key financial highlights at year-end 2018 for the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA)? A We have recently announced our results for the past year and our achievements are quite inspiring, we were able to complete the year with a net profit of AZN426m ($250m). At the end of 2018, the bank's assets were about AZN8bn ($4.7bn). The capital position had been strengthened, and the bank's loan portfolio had grown by more than 8% to AZN1.9bn ($1.1bn).This growth was the result of state support combined with our own efforts to increase the productivity and effectiveness of the bank. Of course, all this is a great start to the new development stage of our company. We are rapidly increasing the number of development initiatives in our bank and moving towards larger goals and objectives.
