Product tanker and containership builder Aker Philadelphia Shipyard has said that it risks going out of business unless it is able to secure new orders.rnThe shipyard currently has four Jones Act product tankers on order. It has already delivered eight of these vessels to the Overseas Shipholding Group.rnAker Philadelphia is a unit of the STX Europe group. Since the yard began operation in the late 1990s, it has built only product tankers and containerships. However, the yard recently said that it was evaluating requests to build other sorts of vessels, such as ships to install offshore wind turbines.
