LARGEST PONTOON EVER STOCK-BUILT BY DAMEN SOLD TO CANADIAN PARTNERSHIP

Damen has sold its largest ever stock-built pontoon to Canadian partnership enterprise McKeil-Malaspina. The vessel will be towed to Newfoundland on the east coast of Canada in the Northern summer. Upon arrival in Canada, the pontoon will be used to support offshore construction operations. The Damen Stan Pontoon 12032 measures 120 metres x 32.2 metres and has a deadweight capacity of approximately 20,000 tonnes. The barge is equipped with a sophisticated ballast system, a generator set and mooring winches. With a deck load of up to 20 t/m~2, the barge can be utilised for complex RoRo operations and for the transport of large offshore constructions.
